High-Speed Police Chase in Santa Clarita Ends with Arrest of Drunk Driver 🚔

On April 7, 2025, In Los Angeles County, California, on Interstate 5 south of Colgrove Boulevard in Santa Clarita, a Highway Patrol officer tried to stop a vehicle suspected to be driven by an intoxicated driver. When the CHP officer tried to initiate a traffic stop the driver sped off attempting to evade capture taking CHP officers and a LAPD Helicopter on a 15-minute chase. The suspect eventually stopped on Ratner Street where he was taken into custody without further incident. The Police Pursuit was captured on the officers dashcam. The suspect, suspected of being under the influence of alcohol refused to take a breath test or blood test and was taken to the CHP Newhall area office for a blood draw using a McNeely warrant obtained by the officers. The driver identified as Patrick King was arrested and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Santa Clarita Station on the following charges:

23578 - Excessive Blood Alcohol
