Sitar Jawari Workshops with Arjun K. Verma 🎶

I will be teaching a second set of one-day sitar jawari workshops Sat, Jun. 1st! They will both be online and in-person, at the Ali Akbar College of Music. These will include both traditional and new, modern techniques, at basic and advanced levels.

Basic Level Jawari Clinic with Individual Guidance:
-basic process of maintenance resurfacing
-how to fix simple tonal problems and mistakes
-will invite participants to receive personal guidance from Arjun on particular sitar jawari issues they are facing.

Advanced Kharaj (Bass String) Shaping:
-jawari curvature theory
-making changes to tone
-a step-by-step method for achieving an open sound that balances the aesthetics of “punch,” “growl,” and harmonic response
