Sitar Jawari Workshop: Advanced Kharaj with Arjun K. Verma 🎶

I will be teaching a second set of one-day sitar jawari workshops Sat, Jun. 1st! They will both be online and in-person, at the Ali Akbar College of Music. These will include both traditional and new, modern techniques, at basic and advanced levels.

In the video here, I am going through the process of reshaping the kharaj jawari. This will be the focus of the advanced workshop.

Advanced Kharaj (Bass String) Shaping:
-jawari curvature theory
-making changes to tone
-a step-by-step method for achieving an open sound that balances the aesthetics of “punch,” “growl,” and harmonic response
