About this video
COSIC seminar β Automatic symmetric-key cryptanalysis with constraints β Siwei Sun (Chinese Academy of Sciences)
Symmetric-key cryptanalysis is a tedious, time-consuming, and error-prone process. In recent years, automatic cryptanalysis with constraints (SMT/SAT, MILP, and classical constraint programming) has become more and more popular which significantly reduces the manual work of cryptanalysis. Today, this methodology covers differential analysis, impossible differential analysis, linear analysis, zero-correlation linear analysis, division analysis and DS-MITM analysis, and we have seen its applications in the analysis of block ciphers, stream ciphers, hash functions and authenticated encryptions. In this talk, I will present a survey of the recent development of automatic cryptanalysis with constraints, and give some perspective on the development of a tool chain for constraint-aided automatic cryptanalysis.
BIO: Siwei Sun is an associate professor from the institute of information engineering, Chinese academy of sciences. His main research interest is symmetric-key cryptography, with a special focus on automatic cryptanalysis. He is the PI of several major Chinese funding for cryptographic research.
