Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov said on Monday (18/12) changes in the government could be expected following his party's strong performance in Sunday's parliamentary elections.

undergone a referendum and received a vote of no confidence. After
a vote like that any government would resign."

resignation. President Yeltsin first said he would fire him, and
then changed his mind, then talked about a replacement. He is
getting too old."

situation will be different. If Chernomyrdin and Yeltsin say they
want to do things the old way they won't be able to. There's a new
societal opinion."
