Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin on Sunday (14/12) pledged his support for ailing president Boris Yeltsin when he cast his vote in local elections. Earlier Russians had watched as President Yeltsin cast his vote in the elections at the sanatorium at Barvikha where he is being treated. At a polling station in an elite residential area of Moscow a string of top Russian politicians, including Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and Yeltsin's ex-bodyguard Alexander Korzhakov, cast their ballots.
