Fixing a Tascam 414 Tape Recorder 🎶

I recently bought an inexpensive Tascam 4 track tape recorder from eBay just to find out that everything worked properly, except for the playback function. I spent hours on forums and reading the manual trying to track down the issue. After cleaning the playheads and spraying the whole unit out with compressed air, I figured it was time to open it up and take a deeper look. I found that a corner of the board had cracked off and then got some insight from a Tascam forum user about how to repair it. I recorded this video to show the repair process.
