It is the YSL La Vestaire des Parfum series' Tuxedo. This ain't a scene, it's a goddamn arms race. Its sturdy energy is gentle, unfathomable. We usually treat it with respect, but deep down we know it is a threat to our existence. On the screen, we imagine it as a towering ape, similar and yet so different from us, humans. It is each one of us but simply not “us”, it is the different ones. When I wear this Tuxedo, I subconsciously dress myself in symbols of civilization: a suit, leather shoes, a briefcase, a watch, an umbrella or cane, a cup of Starbucks or whiskey. It's as if I'm striving to completely conceal the bestial nature within me, only to fulfill the desire when removing the tie and unbuttoning the shirt, in moments accompanied by sweat and dispersed fragrance. The combination of the top notes, including bergamot, coriander, and violet leaves, is refreshing and full of vitality. It's like the sound of cheerful laughter and a joyful atmosphere arriving before anyone else. The middle notes bring a taste of refined elegance, like a gentleman wearing a well-fitted suit, speaking concisely and sharply. Every small detail on him is clean and meticulous, represented by the essence of rose, black pepper, and lily of the valley. Finally, the base notes accentuate the increasing beastliness, delivering a powerful impact from the accumulation of energy. Its overwhelming strength, not easily displayed, demands respect and allure once understood. This is embodied by the core of patchouli, ambergris, and bourbon vanilla. Overall, each note is distinct and harmonious, making you feel the influence from all of them. It's like a champion team with each member excelling in their respective roles, rather than just having one or two star players.
