Step 1. Open the Google Photos app on your iPhone or iPad, and then tap your profile icon to open a menu.

Step 2. Tap "Google Photos Settings" in this menu.

Step 3. Tap "Backup." The Backup screen is displayed.

Step 4. Tap to toggle "Backup" off. Google Photos will stop backing up your iPhone or iPad immediately. And again, all of the photos you've backed up to this point will be safe in Google Photos, and no photos will be deleted from your iPhone or iPad. You can come back to this screen at any time to re-enable backing up the photos on your device to Google Photos.
