The fifth episode of season 22 of Grey's Anatomy shows all of the doctors at work before Link and Jo catch up with one another. It starts the discussion about the twins' baptism, and although Jo advised Link's mother to wait eight weeks, Link believes they ought to wait until the twins are eighteen. That will undoubtedly come up shortly. Blue and Jules are assigned to follow up with all of the patients who ignored their appointments while they are at Bailey's clinic. Blue observes that one of the patients has an expired prescription and was hospitalized a few months ago for ketoacidosis. He is worried about this, and the trailer tells us how it will turn out.
Jo is called in to assist with a patient because the OB is not present. I support women giving birth in the manner they choose, but occasionally the birth plan must be abandoned. Given that the baby is breaching, coming out feet first, and it is quite doubtful that she would be able to have the natural birth she truly desires, this situation most definitely requires a full shift. Simone meets her patient, a transfer from another location, in the interim. Since the new intern has no understanding of what he's actually doing, Simon is the one who should request particular testing. The patient then requests that Simone place her pictures on the table, while the child quickly leaves. Simone finds a picture of her mother at that point. This woman—who is she?
Jo and Link are still arguing. Jo is irritated that Link won't listen to her as he takes his time thinking of reasons why the twins shouldn't be baptized. At this point, the two are equally awful. This is one of those circumstances where they must reach a consensus and listen to each other's desires. But Jo has another conflict on her hands, so the argument cannot go on. Even though it's obvious that this kid is being too stubborn to turn, the expectant mother is still refusing medicines and a cesarean section. The soon-to-be mother says she wants her husband as she expresses her annoyance. That would be fantastic, but she probably wants to concentrate so much on the birth plan because her spouse passed away three months ago. She probably fears that she may pass away and leave her child without a parent.
Jo informs Link that the baby has been delivered when he wakes him up. He always wondered why God would permit children to suffer from cancer, which is why she now wants to discover the truth about the baptism. Because of what is happening in the world, he keeps doubting God. Jo, on the other hand, holds the opposite view, and when Link was recuperating from the explosion, she found solace in prayer. They're both exhausted, so they'll have to continue their conversation later.
As the episode comes to a close, Jules rushes back to the hospital and encounters Winston, who is getting ready to give a speech in front of an audience—something he detests. He chooses not to accept the toy dinosaur that Mercedes's son gave her, despite her decision to give it to him. These two are so adorable, and I doubt Jules is even aware that they have affections for one another yet. She isn't ready to acknowledge the existence of these feelings. Jo and Link won't be returning home just yet, though. Jo's waters burst as they depart. It's back to the hospital.
