For the second date of the series, Jake takes Florence on a trek through the tropical Fijian rain forestto a spectacular waterfall setting. After a revealing and romantic conversation over a bottle of champagne. The date culminates with a romantic swim, culminating in a steamy kiss. Meanwhile back in Paradise, Davey is stewing. The love triangle involving him, his mate Jake and Florence is causing ripples in Paradise. Later, tensions arise when Jake returns, as Davey worries that his mate's succesful date puts his survival in Paradise in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Paradise is abuzz with persistent rumours that Brett is currently in a relationship with a former Bachelorette who may, or may not be arriving in Paradise soon. This is a clear breach of the rules. Brett's mate, Tara, gets embroiled in the fracas, as some of the women believe she is trying to keep Brett safe, in the hope his girlfriend, also her mate, will eventually arrive. It proves to be too much for Tara who breaks down from the pressure. Tensions reach fever pitch when the spotlight finally turns on Brett and he is made to answer some difficult questions about whether he does in fact have a girlfriend outside Paradise. He assures producers he does not, but Tara feels she has been lied to. A new arrival, Laurina, adds some intrigue to the proceedings, and Blake, who has yet to connect to any girls, seizes his opportunity, winning a date and a kiss for his troubles. The woman hold all the power in the first Rose ceremony. And for many of the men at the cocktail party, including Jake, Davey and Brett, it's their last chance to press their case and win a rose. Jake whisks Florence away, while Davey watches which adds to the tension. Davey answers with his own pitch to Florence – complete with flowers. Its anyone's guess who she will pick. But when the dust settles, Davey and Brett are sent home.
