Binge eating disorders after bodybuilding competitions are quite common as after months of dieting, your body is in a state of starvation.

Coupled with not being able to stop eating as well as the sudden physique change from being so lean, can be hard on the mental health.

So here is my current approach to my recovery diet to avoid binge eating:

1️⃣ Stick to low calorie foods and meals
- Temporarily stick to my low calorie meal plan for the day and save the surplus of calories given to me for the evening
- As I'm more peckish during the night, this allows me to use the extra calories for either making a nice dinner, indulge, or if I give in to binge eating, I'd still have over 1000 calories compensate for that

2️⃣ Hunger doesn't change no matter what
- I always feel sick and gross after binge eating junk food, so I'm better off binge eating low calorie and whole foods
- That way, when I do hit my limit with food, I'm either still under my calories, or I haven't eaten way over my calorie intake for the day
- I also feel a lot better as well since I'm not left with that gross feeling the night and day after (also I won't have the feeling of regret either 🤣)

3️⃣ Don't give up and try again
- Your body is in a state of starvation and all it wants to do is eat
- If you couldn't stick your calories for that day, just try again the next
- Recovering after a bodybuilding competition takes a lot of time
- Just know that the look you have now with the excess weight gain is only temporary. Once your satiety comes back, your body will recomp over time, and you'll go back to being normal!
