Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the prolonged heat, if left unaddressed, could disrupt the food supply chain, impact rural livelihoods, and upset ecological balance.

Speaking after joining a cloud seeding operation aboard a Charlie C-130 aircraft on Monday (Aug 4), Zahid—who also chairs the National Disaster Management Committee— said cloud seeding may be extended to other regions based on technical assessments, even without direct requests from state governments.
