Massive Anti-Government Protests in Raqqa 🇸🇾

Amateur video out of Syria appears to show massive anti-government protests in the eastern city of Raqqa.<br/> <br />The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes as twin explosions in Damascus killed at least 27 people.<br/> <br />Gunfire erupts.<br/> <br />Men hold bullet casings in their palms.<br/> <br />Citizens scramble to help the wounded.<br/> <br />The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that five people died in Raqqa Saturday, including three who were wounded a day earlier. One person was reportedly shot dead by security forces during the funeral of two people killed on Friday.<br/> <br />The United Nations estimates that at least 8,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began a year ago.<br/> <br />The government blames the violence on foreign backed insurgents.<br/> <br />Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters
