This is the moment a woman's curling iron exploded - leaving her hand blackened.<br /><br />Mikenzie Kerley, 20, was getting ready for work on the morning on May 29 when the electric curler she was using on her hair exploded.<br /><br />Footage shows the moment the curler sparked and all the lights in the room went out.<br /><br />Mikenzie, a hair stylist based in Mobile, Alabama, said: "I was so shocked in the moment it happened.<br /><br />"I wasn't burned or injured from the explosion in any way. I was just left with the black marks on my hand."<br /><br />It's unclear what caused the explosion but Mikenzie says the curlers were old and the cord was damaged.
