In this short snippet from our Deeper Look Series: Surah Al-Mursalat, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explains how the Quran describes the earliest believers as those who made the mission of the Prophet ﷺ their own. Their loyalty went beyond words. If he was threatened, they stood in front of him. If he was expelled, they left with him. If he starved, they starved. His mission was their mission.

Allah honored these companions with a remarkable gift: He described them with *ihsan,* the pursuit of excellence and beauty in everything they did. The Quran says: “Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do” (69:24). Even though no deed on its own is enough for Paradise, Allah acknowledges their continuous struggle, their resilience and their grit.

This is not just history, it’s an invitation. Ihsan means bringing beauty, care and excellence into everything you do because Allah has been beautiful to you.
