Varan (1962) Widescreen Shot Recreation 🎥

The U.S. version oif "Varan" could only be seen in a pan and scan VHS release. So I decided to recreate a widescreen shot of the film. By taking a screenshot of this scene, before it moves to the left because of pan and scan.

I used Movie Maker 10 to do this. I overlayed the screenshot over the "left part" of this shot. So it could be in widescren, its not entirely the original aspect ratio. Given the fact that the screenshot filled the frame to be in 16:9.

But it is sort of close of what would had the movie look like. After some trial and error, with the timing of the screenshot on the scene. It was exported to 24fps, and than it had to have some slight edits.

On Windows Movie Maker. that is apart of the photo app. The reason why, was to insert parts of the shot in full screen. Because the video with my recreated widescreen shot, had the left side black for the screenshot.

Which was exported to make this final version. As you could see, there is only about 2.80 seconds actually in widescreen. While the rest of the 22.50 seconds remains in widescreen.

This is just a test as you could see. I'm hoiping I could improve and try to do this with other scenes.
