US-Iran Clashes in Strait of Hormuz Amid Nuclear Talks

The US says Iranian drones and missiles targeted its forces in the Strait of Hormuz; the military called the attacks unprovoked and said it struck Iranian sites in self-defence, while Tehran alleges civilian areas were hit. Iranian media reported two drones downed near Qeshm Island and attacks in Bandar Abbas.

Talks in Islamabad are exploring a proposal for Iran to pause enrichment for sanctions relief, release of frozen funds and eased strait restrictions.
