He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering from Keio University, and degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Graduate School of Marine Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
After working at McKinsey & Company Japan, he became a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied computer architecture and information security.
