A UK judge ruled that Australian computer scientist Craig Wright, known by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, lied about being the inventor of Bitcoin. Judge James Mellor of the London High Court concluded that Wright had forged documents and lied in court to support his claim of creating Bitcoin. The case was brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance to prevent Wright from suing Bitcoin developers through bogus intellectual property claims. Wright first announced he was Satoshi Nakamoto in 2016, providing cryptographic signatures to prove his identity.
