About this video
Remember how we used to make paper planes and boats out of old newspapers? Well, these kids took that same childhood creativity and turned it into a cute initiative. It’s called Eco Vala, a completely kid-run paper bag subscription in a Bengaluru neighbourhood. It started when Sharada learned to make paper bags at her school - Vidya Vardhaka Sangha from Eat Raja. She went home, taught her cousins Nachiketa and Samudyata. And what started as a small school lesson turned into this beautiful little community effort. The Eco Vala currently has their immediate neighbours as customers as that’s their delivery range. But they hope many more people across India make paper bags and use them.
For just ₹10 a month, their neighbours get 8 handmade paper bags delivered right to their doors.
These kids learnt a lesson in school and decided to bring it to their home and eventually to their community.
