However, the family was nowhere to be found. One of the most puzzling aspects of the case is the strange behavior exhibited by the Jamison family in the weeks leading up to their disappearance. Reports indicate that they had claimed to have experienced paranormal activity and expressed fears of being stalked. They had also allegedly told friends and family about a bitter feud with unknown individuals and expressed concerns about a possible curse on their family. Theories about the Jamison family disappearance have been numerous and varied. Some have speculated that witchcraft or cult activity may have been involved, citing the family alleged interest in spiritualism and their supposed involvement in a witchcraft practice known as four bodies which is believed to offer protection from evil spirits. Others have suggested the involvement of drug cartels, as the area where they vanished was known for illegal drug activity. In November 2013, a tragic discovery was made by two hunters in a remote area of Latimer County. Skeletal remains of two adults and a child were found.
