Tanhaiyaan: The narrative centers around two sisters, Zara (Shehnaz Sheikh) and Sanya (Marina Khan), who face a life-altering tragedy when their parents die in a car accident. The sisters are forced to sell their family home due to their father's debts and move in with their maternal aunt, Aani (Badar Khalil), in Karachi.​ Zara becomes determined to regain their lost home, channeling her grief into building a successful business. In the process, she distances herself from her loved ones, leading to emotional turmoil. Sanya, in contrast, brings levity to their new life with her playful antics, especially in her interactions with Qutbuddin (Behroze Sabzwari), whom she affectionately nicknames "Qabacha."​ The drama masterfully balances themes of loss, ambition, familial bonds, and the essence of what truly makes a house a home. ​
