The SSAT is an important test since your score is one of the main factors determining admission into independent and private schools. Familiarizing yourself with the different parts of the test and practicing sample questions will help you get ready to ace it.

The SSAT tests your verbal and quantitative skills and consists of three parts:

The 1st part: writing an essay in response to a given prompt.

The 2nd part: 1) A Quantitative section in which you will face various math concepts in geometry, algebra, measurement, etc. 2) A Reading Comprehension section that will test your ability to read and comprehend challenging texts.

The 3rd part: 1) A Verbal section that consists of Synonyms and Analogies questions. 2) A Quantitative section with the same format as the previous Quantitative section. 3) An Experimental section (unscored) that aims at testing new questions for future use.
