We all know what a great musician Shaye is, with her beautiful tone on the cornet and the many other instruments she plays. But we found out what a nice person she is when we were in NOLA for the French Quarter Festival. My 6 year old daughter is a big fan of Shaye from watching her on U Tube on our TV. We were outside the Starlight Lounge before TS was to play when Shaye rode up on her bike. Ceiyanni said “There’s Shaye.” I said go say hello. Shaye was very sweet to her and talked to her for a little while. The next night at the Tuba Skinny 10th Anniversary Celebration she saw Shaye again and was treated like an old friend. Then during the performance Shaye got off the stage and came down to dance with Ceiyanni, going back only seconds before her next solo. Ceiyanni loved it. Very sweet young woman! 😀
