In the last decades, there have been major technological advances in medical diagnosis and monitoring devices such as flow cytometers and magnetic resonance apparatus. These devices, now routinely used, have exponentially increased the ability to generate data. The resulting complexity in the datasets is challenging pre-existing data analysis and promoting the development of new algorithms and tools. A key challenge is concerned with how to intelligently process all this information. In this talk, we will expose some recent results, specially in flow cytometry generated data, and point out some of the present perspectives in medical data processing.
