Mercedes-Benz also saw sales drop 12 percent between July and September 2025, with declines of 27 percent in China and 17 percent in the U.S. Tariffs, rising costs, and competition from Chinese brands like BYD have hurt luxury carmakers. Lamborghini and Maserati have scaled back EV ambitions, signalling growing challenges in the global electric luxury market.
