ICAN Highlights Nuclear Weapons' Threats at UN 🌍

At the 80th session of the UN General Assembly First Committee, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) delivered a powerful statement, highlighting that maintaining nuclear weapons undermines international law, human rights, and environmental sustainability, core principles the United Nations was created to uphold.

The statement, delivered by ICAN's UN Liason Seth Shelden emphasised the urgent need for renewed ambition in disarmament and called on all states to join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) without delay.
