Noida International Airport Inaugurated: Why Is It Special? | Jewar | PM Modi

Noida International Airport at Jewar, inaugurated in its first phase on March 28, stands as one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects. Phase 1, developed at a cost of around ₹11,282 crore under a public-private partnership model, features a massive 3,900-metre runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300ER. It is equipped with modern navigation systems, including the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and advanced airfield lighting for 24/7, all-weather operations. The airport will initially handle 12 million passengers annually and aims to support up to 30 flights per hour, with 10 aerobridge-connected aircraft stands.

Designed with world-class infrastructure, the terminal draws inspiration from Indian heritage. As Delhi-NCR’s second major international gateway, Jewar Airport will significantly ease congestion at Indira Gandhi International Airport while serving as a multi-modal hub connected to road, rail, metro, and expressways, boosting connectivity for cities like Noida, Greater Noida, Meerut, Agra, and Mathura.
