You thought it was too early to wake up <br />When everyone was right on thier setup <br />Oh, too early to get well dressed <br />Too early to have a nice breakfast <br />It was 10: 00 in the morning <br />As the cats meowed from across the street <br />And woke you up in your shuddered sleep <br />I left a note on the top of your shelf <br />Oh, where you wouldn't forget yourself <br />But you do, for the things i meant for you <br />To forget the words that i gave you <br />Oh, you forgot the words i gave you <br /> <br />Now you're feeding them lonely cats <br />Giving away the bits that you have <br />Because you forgot the words at the bottom of the page <br />Oh, you forgot the words that caused this change <br />You forgot my p.s <br />I left with unnecessary pieces <br />You forgot about my advice <br />The one i gave you last night <br />You forgot my p.s <br />With love, now regret.... <br /> <br />Withdrawn from silence <br />You cry for a concsious <br />That's neither hollowed nor darkened <br />Just a little bit more sorted <br />Awakened from our slumber <br />We stand aligned in numbers <br />This life is not getting any younger <br />Time's racing like a speeding thunder <br /> <br />Oh, have we forgotten ourselves <br />As we answer in three questions <br />I throw out of heartfelt suggestions <br />Where, when and why? <br />Are we trying to complicate our lives? <br />My back feel so sore with all of the knives <br />Time keeps throwing against my spine <br />Oh, im spinning out of my mind <br />Not everything makes sense when it rhymes <br />I still have trouble sleeping at night <br />Thinking about all of my artificial skies <br />All this fuss, creation of orders <br />All this plus, creation of borders <br />Even with all of this as clear as light <br />I still think it's as messy as this life <br />Oh, it's just as tricky as this life now....<br /><br />Lubna Hazeem<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/p-s-5/
