Kapil Sibal: No State Can Refuse to Implement the Citizenship Amendment Act ✍️

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Saturday said that no state can say that it will not implement the Citizenship Amendment Act, as doing so will be unconstitutional. “All states are unhappy with the CAA, NRC and NPR and this message should be sent to the Union level. But, at another level, NPR is to be implemented by the local registrar,” Kapil Sibal said on the sidelines of the Kerala Literature Festival here. He further said that "constitutionally, it will be difficult for any state government to say that ‘I will not follow a law passed by Parliament’.
