Iran's Nuclear Program Developments Amid Gaza Peace Talks

Iran has announced its readiness to return to the talking table over its nuclear program but insists its missile capabilities and uranium enrichment remain non-negotiable. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an interview with Al-Jazeera, said Tehran is willing to discuss concerns with Western nations but ruled out any compromise on the ballistic missile program. The statement follows European sanctions on Iran over its nuclear activities. Araghchi denied any plans for direct talks with Washington, citing “unacceptable conditions” previously set by the U.S. Tehran maintains that UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorsed the 2015 nuclear deal, expired in October 2025. Russia and China have also backed Iran’s stance, criticizing Western sanctions as illegitimate and counterproductive. The developments mark renewed friction in efforts to revive nuclear negotiations.
