About this video
This is an information session for Canadian faculty members who are engaged in computational research. It can be of interest to seasoned Compute Canada users, those who are just starting, and those who do not have an account yet. In this 30-minute seminar we will explain what Compute Canada is, and how it can help you to carry out your research. With a free Compute Canada account, you gain access to almost 300,000 CPU cores, thousands of research-grade GPUs, petabytes of RAM and disk and tape storage, hosted in four national datacentres. Unlike our weekly βNew Userβ webinars, this presentation will focus on points of interest for faculty researchers. In particular, we will explain how to add your students and postdocs to your Compute Canada group, and how to manage data generated by your group members. We will also explain what the annual RAC (Resource Allocation Competition) is, and who needs to apply for one. Finally, we will discuss multiple venues for getting support in Compute Canada (ticketing system, training, dedicated programming assistance etc.).
