Damien Hauser Talks 'Memory of Princess Mumbi' at ZFF 2025

He built the world of 2093 in Kenya with almost no budget, but the reasons why run deeper than the film itself. For 24-year-old Damien Hauser, this ambitious sci-fi project was an answer to a difficult personal chapter. The result is a story where the journey behind the camera is just as powerful as the world he created on screen.

Once a year, the ZFF brings Hollywood to Zurich. Then, the curtain rises on around 100 curated films, inspiring discoveries as well as World and European premieres. For eleven days, audiences have the unique opportunity to experience today's and tomorrow's big cinema stars up close and personal. Cast / Audiovisual Media is a subject area at the Zurich University of the Arts. Under the direction of Nadia Holdener, Alun Meyerhans, Naomi Erlich and Adrian Graf, the students in the 3rd and 5th semester create audiovisual content for «ZFF Daily». They use their knowledge in animation, editing, filming and social media acquired during their studies.
