The Indian Traditional Knowledge Systems (Bharatiya Gnana Parampara) Division of Ministry of Education (MoE) is located in the AICTE Headquarters was established in Oct. 2020. It aims to promote interdisciplinary research on all aspects of “Indian Knowledge Systems”, preserve and disseminate “Indian Knowledge Systems” for further research and societal applications.
Speakers:
Prof Ganti Murthy is the national coordinator at the IKS Division of MoE, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He is a professor in Biological and Ecological Engineering department at Oregon State University.
He is the founding head of the Center for Indian Scientific Knowledge Systems, IIT Indore. He is the co-founder and CEO, GRW Engineering LLC.
His research is specifically focused on sustainable bioprocessing and engineered systems analysis.
His research is broadly focused on sustainable bioprocessing. For any proposed technology or policy, Murthy group seeks to answer the question: “Is this approach technically feasible, economically viable, resource sustainable and has lower environmental impacts compared to alternatives? If not, how can we make it so?” His group employs a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches using control theory, systems biology, process modeling, economic analysis and life cycle assessment (LCA) techniques to conduct molecular, cellular, industrial scale and systems level analyses of technologies to establish a sustainable bioeconomy.
Dr. Anuradha Choudry is presently working as Asst. Professor at the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at IIT Kharagpur for Sanskrit and Indian Psychology. She is also the Founder of Ritambhara Yogashala and Takshashila Institute of India Studies [TIIS]. A Ph.D in Vedic Psychology from Pondicherry University, she was awarded the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship of the EU for an M.Litt in Crossways in European Humanities and a UN related Scholarship for a course on Human Rights at the Summer University of Human Rights, Geneva. Before joining IIT Kharagpur, she was a Fellow at the Development Foundation, Bangalore, as well as an adjunct Faculty at the Veda Vijnana Shodha Samsthanam, Bangalore. She also helped to establish the Centre for Indian Psychology, Jain University, Bangalore, where she organized and participated in conferences and workshops to deliberate on an alternative paradigm for psychology based on the Indic worldview. An instructor at YogaAnytime.com and a Visiting Faculty at Ghent University, Belgium, she has also been a resource person for teaching Spoken Sanskrit, Yoga Psychology and about the transformative power of mantras at the European Union of Yoga in Zinal, Switzerland (2011, 2013, 2014), Auroville International, Netherlands, the School of Practical Philosophy and Economic Sciences in UK, Ireland and Australia, Ojai Yoga Crib, Ojai, USA, and at several other Academic Institutions and organisations across the globe. Together with Dr. Vinayachandra, she has co-edited a book titled ‘Perspectives on Indian Psychology’.
