About this video

Steganography is the act of concealing a message within another physical object, message or piece of data. For example, hidden messages within bodies of text. Least Significant Bit (LSB) is a simple steganographic technique for concealing a hidden message within another digital file. This digital file could be anything from an image to video or audio. This technique involves taking each bit of data in the secret message and overwriting the least significant (furthest to the right) bit of each byte of data in the cover file (that is the file we wish to store the secret message in). Altering the least significant bit of a byte of data will have the smallest effect on its value so once all the data is inserted into the cover file and a stego-object is produced (the file that now contains the hidden data) it will appear unchanged to a human as there will be only the smallest possible changes from the original cover file. Of course, to a computer (or a human employing steganalysis techniques) this will be easily visible, especially if the original cover file is available for comparison. #cybersecurity #steganography #hiddenmessage #lsb #hiddenmessages
