Transfer WhatsApp Chats from iPhone to Android 📱

About this video

To transfer WhatsApp chats from an iPhone to any Android phone using a device link (cable connection), you can use the official WhatsApp transfer method, which is supported for Android devices running Android 12 or higher. This method involves a direct cable transfer and requires a USB-C to Lightning cable. Below is a step-by-step guide to ensure a successful transfer.

Requirements
iPhone: Running iOS with WhatsApp version 2.21.160.17 or later.
Android Phone: Running Android 12 or higher with WhatsApp version 2.21.16.20 or later.

USB-C to Lightning Cable: Ensure it’s compatible (typically the iPhone charging cable; an adapter may be needed if it doesn’t fit).
Same Phone Number: The WhatsApp account must use the same phone number on both devices.

Android Device: Must be factory reset or brand new (if already set up, you’ll need to reset it).

Stable Wi-Fi: Both devices should be connected to Wi-Fi, and the iPhone must remain unlocked during the process.

Steps to Transfer WhatsApp Chats
Back Up WhatsApp on iPhone (Recommended)
Open WhatsApp on your iPhone.

Go to Settings - Chats - Chat Backup.
Tap Back Up Now to save your chats to iCloud (optional but recommended as a precaution).

Ensure you have a stable internet connection for the backup.
Set Up WhatsApp on Android

On your Android phone, download the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play Store.

Open WhatsApp and start the setup process but do not complete it yet.
Connect the Devices

Connect your iPhone to your Android phone using a USB-C to Lightning cable.

If prompted on your iPhone, tap Trust to allow the connection.
Initiate Transfer on Android

During the Android phone’s setup process (or after a factory reset), you’ll see a screen to Copy apps and data.

Select Copy from iPhone or iPad.

A QR code will appear on the Android screen.
Start Transfer on iPhone

On your iPhone, open WhatsApp.

Go to Settings - Chats - Move Chats to Android.
Use your iPhone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on the Android phone.

Tap Start on the iPhone to begin preparing the data for transfer. Keep the iPhone unlocked during this process.
Complete Transfer on Android

Once the iPhone finishes preparing the data, return to your Android phone.
Follow the on-screen prompts to continue the transfer.

WhatsApp will automatically install (if not already installed) on the Android device during this process.

Log in to WhatsApp on the Android phone using the same phone number as on the iPhone.

When prompted, tap Import to restore your chats.
Finalize Setup

Wait for the transfer to complete (time depends on data size, e.g., chats, photos, videos).

Once done, your WhatsApp chats, media, and settings (excluding call history and payment messages) will appear on the Android phone.
