Chandan and Mohammed are childhood friends, from a village in northern India, who share a big dream. They want to work for the police, a profession that would give them the dignity they have long been denied. However, the road to achieving this goal is rocky. As a member of a lower caste, and as a Muslim, they face daily discrimination. The closer they get to their goal, the more their friendship is tested. Featuring stunning landscape imagery, Homebound is a poignant film about survival in an unjust world and the power of friendship. Produced by Martin Scorsese, among others, it’s cinema at its best.
