About this video
To master walking…
You essentially have to be really good at standing with your full weight on each leg. That’s what walking is!
You take a step and transfer your weight as you lift the back leg and swing it forward. Then you take another step and repeat the process 🔁
If you have arthritis pain in your hip, knee, ankle, back, or foot- you may notice a limp because your body wants to get off the painful side as quickly as possible - or may not even want to out full weight on that side 🫠
But you can rebuild both confidence and strength! 💪🏽
This is a simple movement to get started with to start building up your confidence ☝🏽
Use support like a wall or kitchen counter when first starting and work away from the support as your able. Don’t lean to one side- if you find yourself leaning- you may need more support ☝🏽
Try to build up to 20-30 steps forwards and backwards. As you get better start building up to 50-60- but only if it feels good ✅
Start with your stronger side to get the hang of it then move to the more difficult or painful side 🙌🏼
You can do this!!
