About this video
Colpitts Crystal Oscillator
We have made a few oscillators in past videos, but this is the first one that makes use of a crystal. The Colpitts Crystal Oscillator circuit is found in a majority of modern electronics that require a precise clock signal.
Invented in 1918 by Edwin Colpitts, this circuit uses a voltage divider consisting of two capacitors and a pair of bias resistors.
