A Belgian charity worker and a Russian interpreter were kidnapped on Saturday (27/4) in Grozny, capital of the breakaway republic of Chechnya. The two, both women, were working for the international relief
group, Medecin Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). The head of MSF in Chechnya, Marcello Tenti, says the kidnappers demanded US$200,000 dollars for the release of the two captives.
