In this lecture, We will discuss about the following topics Cryptography It is the branch of science which deals with the encoding of information for the purpose of hiding messages. Crypt- Hidden. Graphy -Writing. Plaintext- Known text(Ex : Hello).Ciphertext- Unknown text( Ex. RAVVC).Encoding/Encryption- Convert Plaintext to Ciphertext.Decoding โ€“ Convert Ciphertext to plaintext DNA- Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid The term โ€œDNAโ€ comes from molecular biology. DNA is made of chemical building blocks called nucleotides.DNA molecules are made up of sequences of four nucleotides such as Adenine(A),Cytosine(C),Guanine(G),Thymine(T) DNCryptography It is used to hide data in terms of DNA Sequence(ACTG).It is the combination of Cryptography and DNA techniques to secure data in an efficient manner. It stores vast amounts of data in a very small physical space. It is preventing the misuse of genetic information. Why DNA? Very difficult to solve complex problems like directed Hamilton path problem and NP-complete problem by using cryptographic algorithms. But, with DNA, It is very simple. No power is required for DNA computing while computing. DNA computing offers more speed, minimal storage, and power requirements.1 gram of DNA stores 108 TeraBytes of data.
