Understanding Higher-Level Intelligence from AI, Psychology, and Neuroscience Perspectives

The goal of emotion perception technologies is to enable machines to interpret and respond to human emotions. These capabilities have transformative potential in many areas, including human-machine interaction, understanding societal dynamics, enhancing user experiences, improving mental health diagnostics, and personalizing learning environments, among many others. However, accurately understanding emotions presents significant challenges. In this talk, I will share insights from our research on emotion perception, emphasizing the complexities inherent in developing automated models that account for the contextual information and the individual differences. We will also discuss about potential use cases of emotion perception technologies, and the importance of responsible development and deployment practices.
