Abuja Doctors Strike Over Wike’s Inaction 🚑

Abuja is in the middle of a healthcare crisis.
On Monday, September 15th, resident doctors under the Association of Resident Doctors (FCTA) declared an indefinite strike after the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, allegedly refused to address their demands.

The doctors list 14 unresolved issues: unpaid salaries, stalled promotions since 2023, unpaid hazard allowances, non-payment of the Medical Residency Training Fund, wage award arrears, and hospitals that lack even basic equipment like X-rays.

This strike follows a 7-day warning strike that the FCTA ignored. Now, patients are left stranded, doctors are demoralized, and Abuja’s hospitals risk total collapse.
