About this video
Just a little demonstration of an inexpensive 8x8 RGB LED matrix (WS2812), controlled via a single data line using an Arduino-style Mega 2560 board and the FastLED library. This demo consists of four parts:
- a cycle throught the hue spectrum at 100% saturation
- a few random passes throught the hue/saturation spectrum
- a very simple fire simulation
- a "fireworks" pattern
This LED matrix is incredibly bright. For the first part, I'm only using about 60% of the intensity possible, and it still tends to overload the camera sensors. I've put a single sheet of paper on top of the matrix to even out the light from the very small and very bright LED spots.
