"बिंद्रा (Sanjeev Kumar) अमीर ज़िन्दगी जीते हैं अपने सौतेले भाई जगजीवनदास (Jeevan) के साथ। अफ्रीका में व्यापार संभालने के बाद जब वह लौटते हैं, तो खूबसूरत श्यामा (Neeta Mehta) को बदमाशों से बचाते हैं, लेकिन भोली श्यामा उन्हें ठग समझ बैठती है। फिर उनका सामान चोरी हो जाता है और घर लौटने पर पता चलता है कि भरोसेमंद प्रताप चंद (Pran) पर चोरी और हत्या का आरोप है। अब प्रताप मानसिक अस्पताल में हैं, खुद को पागल दिखाकर फांसी से बचने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं लेकिन क्या वह सच में दोषी हैं या किसी साज़िश का शिकार?
