Drawing insights from several past audits conducted by Common Prefix, this session aims to provide key pointers that engineers and scientists should keep in mind while implementing modern cryptographic primitives such as ZK, SNARKs, MPC, etc. We begin by identifying and dissecting common errors, such as biased generation of random group elements, non-unique serialization and deserialization, and improper handling of secret data. The talk then shifts focus to exploring strategies for optimizing cryptographic operations, including techniques for multiscalar multiplications and polynomial interpolation.
