Tai Chi is a circular motion exercise. The goal is to develop tendon jing 筋勁. Power is from the bone 力出于骨, jing is stored in the tendon 勁畜于筋.
To develop tendon jing, you first learn how to connect 3 danteins 三丹合一. The upper dantein is the mind that leads the body movements. The lower dantein cultivates yin and yang energies together. The middle dantein transfers the chi energy into internal power. It is the connections of these these 3 danteins and tai chi silk reeling techniques 缠丝勁 that develop joint to joint connection 节书贯通, transfer energy from the leg to the waist, waist to the shoulder and arm, and the arm transfers energy to the hands.
Why develop tendon jing? Tendon jing has no limit of age and continue to grow even you are senior. It opens up your meradians and chi circulation, improve your immune system, build up foot rooting, body coordination and balance, extends your life of your other exercises, reduce the risk of fell, and great benefit to your health.
