Simple chicken curry recipe | Basic chicken #recipevideo

Sunday walli chicken curry🍗 No idea why but Sundays without chicken curry feel so incomplete. There has to be one or the other preparation of chicken on Sunday! Ingredients I used: - 1 kg chicken - 3 tbsp oil - 2 bayleaves/tejpatta - 2 cardamoms/elaichi - 1 black cardamom/badi elaichi - small piece of cinnamon - 1/2 star anise - 3 onions, roughly chopped - 2 tsp ginger garlic paste - 2 to 3 green chillies, slit - 2 to 3 tomatoes, finely chopped - salt - 2 tsp red chilli powder (customize as preferred, I prefer the curry spicy so added more) - 1 tsp coriander powder - 3/4 tsp cumin powder - 2 tsp chicken masala - coriander leaves, finely chopped - 1 cup water Procedure: - Heat oil in a pan, add whole spices and stir till fragrant. - Add onions and fry till they turn dark brown (like shown in the video). Darker the onions, tastier the gravy. - Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies. Stir well till the paste doesn’t smell raw anymore. - Add tomatoes and all above mentioned masalas. Mix well and cook till tomatoes are mushy. - Add chicken and fry for 5-7 mins at least. - Keep it covered without adding water and let chicken cook for few mins in its own water. - Add 1 cup water and let it cook again, covered for 7-10 mins. - Garnish it with coriander leaves.
