Survey of universal image steganalysis

Presentation by Santor Warmerdam, Delft University of Technology In this survey first of all we attempt to both give a quick introduction to the what steganography and steganalysis are, specifically focussing on universal steganalysis. This continues into an overview of the methods currently popular in design of steganalytic systems in research. The main contribution in this paper comes from an overview of the current problems facing research in the field of universal steganalysis. First of all issues that impede the quick comparison of newly proposed methods are discussed and possible solutions used in other fields are proposed. Secondly issues that prevent the results of current research from being applied to real applications are discussed. Besides this the possible limitations to the universality of universal steganalytic systems are discussed. All together compared to previous work this gives a more complete overview of the issues that should be kept in mind when doing research in this area.
